ABOUT THE NERD:
My Journey In Comic Books

Hi! I'm Brin, the creator of Brin's Brain, an avid writer, creative, comic book nerd, ocean lover and non-binary finery with a penchant for kooky hair colors, queer stories and readings, good French Toast, and learning as much as I can about any subject I can sink my teeth into.

The Hero's Journey

My life in comics didn't start in a multi-million dollar cave or an alien planet. It started one Christmas evening, at my aunt Molly's house, when my cousin Alex gave me a box of his old comics, from X-Men to New Warriors to Avengers (lots of Marvel, Alex, biased much?). I was interested before, but from that moment on I was addicted with no signs of stopping. From those comics, those stories of the chaos of the fight for mutant rights in a country that violently persecutes an oppressed minority, the stories of teenagers fighting a powerful man forcing them to kill each other for his amusement, so much of my curiosity and my political beliefs were born. Brin's Brain is the result of decades of development of my writing skills, inner library of comic book and general nerd knowledge, passion for exploration of topics, and love for the source material.

I am a product of everything that shaped me. From people like my mom and dad, my cousin Alex and my friends, who helped me facilitate the earliest parts of my collection and encouraged me to pursue this interest. To my siblings, who taught me how to fight for what I loved, and how to come back from emotional bruises. To the teachers like Mrs. Popp and Ms. Kolodzy who shaped my writing from high school to college and beyond. To my favorite authors (Paul Levitz, Mark Gruenwald, Ram V, Louise Simonson and more). Everything I do with my knowledge and passion and curiosity is dedicated to anyone I've mentioned here.
